While You Are Supporting Privilege

What is a privilege?

It is a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group of people.
                                                                                                          — Oxford Dictionaries

When a privileged person says, “I do not see color…”

All I hear is, I do not see you. The last time I checked, what we do not see is invisible to sigh far from the mind.

Unless the person is color-blind, I am really not buying into this vision.

Until most world leaders admit and acknowledge their psychological bias, morality will remain a delusional curtain of virtue to hide behind? What is ironic is to see countries turn around and look at another and harshly criticize their stratified system with dirt in their eyes while pointing the finger.

The spectrum of the word privilege does not only apply to racism, for underneath that broadened umbrella also is a hidden class disparity.

Injustice anywhere…

Today is someone else other than you and yet what about tomorrow?

Social stratification is a kind of social differentiation whereby a society groups people into socioeconomic strata, based on their occupation and income, wealth and social status, or derived power (social and political).

— Wikipedia

Most people who omit to pay attention to racism are also missing the target that will eventually be on their backs. Racism is the smoke which is telling us that the fire is about to come and do its damage.

Racism and classification are cousins and they need our undivided attention.  While people prefer to turn a blind eye toward what is happening, just remember that this minority could not give a care about those who are at the bottom.

While you remain silent just remember that instead of supporting those who are taking other people’s umbrellas you could have participated in creating more umbrellas before the day they come get your shirt only to find they never planned to share the umbrellas with you.

Because when the rain falls, there is no escaping.

Here is a term I had no idea existed until I stumbled upon this parodistic video which will explain to you the expression better than words ever could.
